Ridder; heer van de Lek, vermeld sedert 1233. Hendrik van der Lek was Volperts oudste in leven gebleven zoon. Gezien zijn voornaam is hij vernoemd naar zijn moederlijke grootvader Hendrik van Smitshuisen. De tol van Smitshuisen, die Volpert middels zijn huwelijk uiteindelijk verwierf, vererfd e binnen de Van der Leks. Hendrik van de Lek zien we in 1243 met vader en stiefmoeder in een oorkonde. Was hij een zoon van Margaretha van Cuyck dan was hij in 1243 hoogstens 6 jaar oud, te jong om middels aanwezigheid toestemming te geven. Hij had dan minimaal 7 jaar dienen te zijn.
