Notes about Wilhelmus "(Wilhelm)" uten GOYE

Zijn vrouw is onbekend; hij is waarschijnlijk te vereenzelvigen met de in 1165 (OB. Sticht I. no. 445, anno 1165, 2 apr-18 juni) genoemde Wilhelmus, zoon van de schelen graaf Willem, die waarschijnlijk dan meerderjarig is, immers hij getuigt mede . Wilhelmus comes de Goye wordt na 1190 niet meer vermeld, hij komt niet meer voor als getuige in een oorkonde van omstreeks 1196 (Sloet: OB. Gelre en Zutphen. no. 387), waar enige zelfde getuigen voorkomen als in 1190. Vermoedelijk was hij toen overleden. Vermeldingen : 1165 april 22-juni 18. Wilhelmus comes Strabo et filius eius Wilhelmus (zie bij zijn vader op deze datum). 1190. Wilhelmus comes de Goye et frater eius leggen met anderen de eed af voor Otto graaf van Gelre en Zutphen, als deze stadsrechten verleent aan de stad Zutphen. Vóór hen worden genoemd Henricus . . . . . . de Kuk, Ludolphus de Stenvorthen, Henr icus de Burkelo en na hem Wolterus Spierinck, Otto de Buren ea., daarna komen een aantal ministerialen. Wilhelmus comes de Goye is dus een nobilis (Westf. UB. II, Codex Dipl. no. 432, anno 1183). Een zoon van hem is vermoedelijk: Wolterus comes de Goye.
