Toen Christiaan 2 jaar was overleed zijn vader Kornelis. Hij werd toen ondergebracht bij zijn Tante Adriana, jongste zuster van zijn vader. Deze bewoonde met haar man Laurentius Adrianus de Kruijff een kloeke boerenhofstee op het landgoed Ottestein in Maurik


Historisch interessant is te weten dat deze tijdens een watersnoodramp in 1809 enkele dagen bewoond is geweest door de Franse koning Lodewijk Napoleon.



Christiaan Lansdaal werd na zijn vader ook pachter op deze boerderij. Hij woonde er 44 jaar. Zijn zoon Jan Cornelis werd er geboren. na het opzeggen van de pacht in 1920 kon Christiaan de boerenhofstee als eerste kopen. hij zag er echter vanaf, kocht een kleiner bedrijf in Rijswijk, gemeente Maurik. De kasteelboerderij is tenslotte in 1929 gesloopt.
