According to a post made 23 Feb 2001 on the Ohmart message board at Rootsweb by Dwayne Wrightsman ((XXXXX@XXXX.XXX)), "this John Ommert was probably one of the two Johannes Ommerths to immigrate to this country, one arriving on the Ship Priscilla in 1750, the other on the Ship Rawley in 1752. The two Johannes Ommerths were half-brothers, both sons of Simon Ommert of Oberkalbach, Germany. The older Johannes was born in 1713 and was married, in Oberkalbach, to Catherina Kubat. The younger Johannes was born in Oberkalbach in 1725. It is the younger Johannes who is more likely to have been Christian's father. Christian had older brothers and at least one sister. Many of the Ommert family children were baptised in Staleys or St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Chanceford Township, York County, Pa. during the 1790s."
