Abraham was the eldest son of Henrich and Maria Clemmer so he acquired the homestead. His wife inherited her parents' farm in New Britain Township, Bucks County. In early life they acquired considerable additional land in Franconia Township. It was during this period that the original portion of the existing farmhouse was erected. According to the standards of the period for this rural community they undoubtedly were a substantial family. Abraham died intestate and the administrators of his estate were Abraham and John. Their accounting was proved March 6 1838 at Norristown and as an indication of the liberality of the parents toward their children during their lifetime, mention is made of the following advances:
