Biography
Gill Armistead born about 1726 in New Kent Parish, Virginia was the son of Colonel John Armistead and Elizabeth Gill. He lived in Blissland Parish, New Kent. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Allen on 23 May 1751. In 1751 he was Sheriff and Colonel in 1758. He was Burgess from New Kent in the sessions of November 3, 1761, January 14, 1762, and March 20, 1762. In the sessions of November 2, 1762 Burwell Bassett represented New Kent in place of Gill Armistead, deceased.
