Hannah King Brown
Birth: 1629 Southold, Suffolk County, New York, USA
Death: 26 Jan 1698 (aged 68Å69) Southold, Suffolk County, New York, USA
Burial: Old Burying Ground of First Presbyterian Church, Southold, Suffolk County, New York, USA
Plot: Hannah's name is not found on the record of a 1950s survey for this cemetery. The cemetery also has no record of a marker or of this person, but the records are incomplete for those early dates. Consequently the original creator of this memorial must have based his conclusions upon his examination of other old documents. What those records were I do not know. I do know he was careful in his research.

Bio: Hannah is 6 years old in 1635, therfore born about 1629 in England
From the article âWilliam and Dorothy King, of Salem, Mass., and three generations of their Long Island Descendantsâ104 complied by Lucy D. Akerly from the Manuscript Genealogy of Rufus King of Yonkers, N.Y. New York Gen. Biog. Rec. (1902):
William Kinge of Salem, Mass., was born in England about 1595, and is first traced in a list of 106 passengers entitled âBound for New England, Waymouth, ye 20 March, 1635.â This list includes the following names: William Kinge, aged 40, Dorothy his wife, aged 34, Mary Kinge his daughr, aged 12, Katheryn his daughr, aged 10, Willm Kinge his sonne, aged 8, Hanna Kinge his daughr, aged 6.
There was also another son Samuel King, born about 1633, whose name is not included in the ship's list, doubtless on account of his being so young, but his King parentage is clearly set forth in legal papers recorded at Salem relating to the distribution of his fatherâs estate.
As William King selected Weymouth for a point of departure, it is conjectured that he may have lived in some place in the south of England for which it was the most convenient port.
In the Register of the Abbey Church of St. Mary at Sherborne, Dorset, are many entries of the name King, and among them the following: â1616-17, Feb. 17, Williami Kinge et Dorothiae Hayne nupt.â This is probably the record of the marriage of William and Dorothy King the emigrants to America, though they do not appear to have lived in Sherborne as we find no further record of them there nor entries of the baptism of their children in the Church Register.
