Charles Fisher
Birth: 1730
Death: 1814 (aged 83œ84) Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, USA
Burial: Starnes Family CemeteryUnion County, North Carolina, USA
Memorial #: 54136188
Bio: Charles Fisher was probably born in the 1730s, and he died in 1814, on Cane Creek in the section of Mecklenburg County, NC that became Union Co. after 1842.

Some sources state that Charles' parents were Frederick Fischer/Fisher and his wife Anna Sybilla. These and other sources state his wife's name was Barbara Darr.

Per information found on line, "Charles Fisher arrived "on Adams Creek prior to 1774. From this date until his death in 1814 we find a multitude of documented records about him and can easily trace his meanderings from Mecklenburg to Washington County,Virginia in 1777, back down to Rowan County, NC about 1782, and back to Waxhaws about 1789 where he was listed in the 1790 census."

Apparently, Charles Fisher purchased land on Adams Creek in Mecklenburg Co. in 1764, sold the land in 1775, and moved to Washington County, Virginia in 1777. Charles remained there until after June 1782, and in 1784 bought land on Waxhaw Creek back in Mecklenburg Co., NC.

Charles Fisher had at least four sons and one daughter:

John Fisher (c. 1856-c. 1806/11)

Paul Fisher (c. 1758-1804) m. Mary "Polly" Phillips. He died around 1804, and is buried in this same cemetery.

William Fisher (c. 1760-1830s) He went to Wilcox County, Alabama sometime prior to 1820.

Frederick Fisher (c.1762-24 Arpil 1846) m. Mary. He served in the Revolutionary War and was severely wounded at the Battle of King's mountain in 1780. He went to Marshall County, Tennessee.

Mary Fisher (c. 1768-1848) m. Frederick Starnes III (c.1765-1815). She joined her brother William in Wilcox County, Alabama in 1826.
