He was living with his parents at Obermettmenstetten in 1637, age 19 and was called an Anabaptist. He was not at Obermettmenstetten in 1640. Records state that he moved from Canton Zurich about 1649 and that he in "1669, Heini Funk from Zurich but for 20 years in Hasle bei Bern, shall be sent to the orphanage where his wife is. In his home are six children, mostly uneducated. The oldest daughter not long ago was still an illegitimate child. A tax was placed on Heini's property. Everything the children can do without will be confiscated to keep the elder täufer Funk in jail. Guardians for the children will be appointed. He was taken to the borders and released Jan 5, 1671. But slipped back again. On Jan 26, 1672, the täufer preacher Heini Funk slipped again into the country. The authorities ordered Trachselwald and Burgdorf to be on the lookout, arrest and be paid for same". In another record at Bern he stated that he was released at the border and exiled on 5 Jan 1671. He returned and again was exiled. On 6 Apr 1672 he was listed as an Anabaptist refugee living at Eschbach (maybe Eschelbach 7 kilometers west of Sinsheim) age about 57 with wife Magdalena Pitzge, over age 40. "He is the man who was flogged and branded". They had six children, four with them, of which the oldest is 17 and the youngest is 5 years. He had at least two daughters and may be the father of the four Mennonite men who lived on the east side of the Rhine River, Jacob, Ulrich, Hans and Heinrich. 11. Daughter Funk, b. c1649, Hasle, Bern. She was unbaptized (by the state church in Bern) until 1669 and had been considered illegitimate until then. She was called the oldest daughter. 12. He was called a Mennonite of Streichenberg, Baden when he died on 18 Jul 1736, age 57 years, 9 months, 10 days. He was buried at Stebbach.
