Notes about Andrew Robeson Jr.

{geni:about_me} http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=24493793

Andrew Robeson and his nephew Andrew Robeson my GF came to America in the 1600's. History reveals that Uncle Andrew was appointed the first Chief Justice and Andrew his nephew suceeded him when his Uncle died. My GF Andrew's wife proceeded him in death and is buried at Gloria Dei. Supposedly one of the oldest in the Cemetery. It is stated that the headstone has markings from bullets made during the Revolutionary War. Andrew died during the winter months while living in Douglasville PA and they were unable to carry him to where his wife Mary is buried. He is buried at St. Gabriels in what is known as the "burying grounds". This was usualy used for the persons of Quaker faith, also nicknamed "Friends". Because Andrew was a Swede being buried in a Quaker Cemetery it was stated "He was not a "Friend"".

--------------------

of Scotch birth
was the first person known to be buried at the Swedish church in Douglassville in Berks County.
