Edith, Walter and their daughter Gladys migrated to Australia on the ship 'Geelong', which arrived in Sydney New South Wales on 10th December 1912. Also travelling on the ship were Edith's father Henry George, her stepmother Emma Haddaway Ransley, her sisters Ethel, Dorothy and Alice, and Alice's husband Arthur (Ted) Peen. Walter's brother Ernest and his wife Louisa also travelled with them.
