INQUESTS.

age, about 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, stout build, sandy hair turning grey, sandy whiskers, beard, moustache, and complexion; wore black cloth paget-coat, trousers and vest of similar material, brown and white striped cotton shirt, white linen collar, black necktie, cotton drawers, white cotton socks, elastic-side boots, and black hard-felt hat. In his pockets were found testimonials in the name of Francis McHugh, who had been a sergeant in the New Zealand Militia and Armed Constabulary; a certificate of a marriage which had been celebrated at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Napier, New Zealand, in 1868, to Joanna, daughter of D.G. Reid, of Argyle Street, Londonderry, Ireland; a pocket-book, pipe, and match-box. The body now awaits identification and inquest. O.3108. 26th May 1885.
