Enige maanden na het overlijden van Cornelis, wanneer zijn boedel door de kinderen gescheiden
wordt, blijkt hoe rijk deze Gijsen is geweest. Naast de twee molens, het woonhuis, het huisje met
houttuin daartegenover aan de Zaan en een paar stukken land, dat tezamen getaxeerd worft op fl.
12500 en een houtvoorraad van fl.12500 is er nog zoveel meer, dat de totale boedel uitkomt op fl.
342000. We vinden 1/8 parten in nog drie houzaagmolens, parten in de enorme lijnbaan "de Blauwe
Arent " te Oostzaandam aan het Bogaardspad, een rij scheepsparten, obligaties op de Staten van
Holland en verschillende steden voor een waarde van fl. 42000, leningen aan particulieren tot een
bedrag van fl. 34500 terwijl er voor fl. 39500 aan handels vorderingen uitstaat. Maar dan zijn we
er nog niet want aan kontantgeld blijkt een bedrag van fl. 155900 in huis te zijn. Bron: AG 26-27.
