    Johannes Bus was 54 jaar toen hij omkwam ten gevolge van en vliegtuigbeschieting op 3 februari 1945 in Voorthuizen, dus maar een paar maanden voor de Bevrijding.
    Hij was daar omdat hij deelnam aan een zogeheten voedsel- of hongertocht.

    Johannes Bus (geb. 1890) was een geboren en getogen Laarder. Hij was getrouwd met Johanna van de Berg (geb.1896).
    Hij verdiende de kost als opperman in de bouw.
    Van het oudste kind in het gezin was Johannes niet de vader, het was de dochter van een onbekende vader. Johanna heeft daar nooit iets over losgelaten.
    Samen kregen Johannes en Johanna acht kinderen: zes meisjes en twee jongens. Van deze acht kinderen zijn er nu nog twee in leven (september 2021), de oudste en de jongste.
