David Wurms was a son of Moses Wurms and Reina da Siva Rosa. He married 8 March 1893 in Amsterdam to Vrouwtje Witzenhausen, who passed away there on 25 January 1934. David Wurms and Vrouwtje Witzenhausen had together ten children of whom three children have died at very young age; thee children have survived the war; Sara, Esther, Henriette and Flora have been killed during the Holocaust.

Afther the death of Vrouwtje Witzenhausen, David Wurms married again on 29 August 1934 to the widow of Simon van Zanten, Naatje Wertheim, daughter of Levie Wertheim and Grietje van Cleef.
