David Schrijver was a son of Philip Schrijver and Marianne Koster. Besides David, there were two more children: Abraham and Rebecca.
David married on 3 August 1898 in Amsterdam to Betje Walvis, who passed away there on 31 October 1927. The couple had 7 children: Philip, Judic, Levie, Abraham, Salomon who died only 6 months old, Zacharias and again a son Salomon.
After the death of Betje Walvis, David Schrijver remarried on 28 March 1928 to the widow ot Zacharias Walvis, Fijtje Posener, daughter of Betje Posener.
