Notes about Jan (John) Koppedraier


Drie van de emigranten zijn zwagers van elkaar: Pieter Groen met Jantje Langenberg, Gerrit Kooyman met Willemtje Langenberg met zes kinderen en Jan Koppedrayer met Neeltje Langenberg met vijf kinderen. Op dezelfde dag gaan ook Dirk Zwagerman met Geertje Tinkelenberg en hun twee kinderen.
Het is een hele sensatie: zo'n uittocht van 32 mensen uit zo'n klein dorp, tien volwassenen en 22 kinderen! Een datum om te onthouden: 27 April 1865.

De derde emigrant was JAN KOPPEDRAAIER met vijf kinderen. Hij was weduwnaar van Neeltje Langenberg, die in Februari 1857 was overleden.

De vierde was GERRIT KOOYMAN, gehuwd met Willemtje Langenberg, met zes kinderen.

De vijfde was PIETER GROEN, gehuwd met Jantje Langenberg, met drie kinderen.

De zesde was MAARTJE KOPPEDRAAIER, die op 16 April 1865 gereformeerde belijdenis gedaan had, waarschijnlijk een zuster van Jan Koppedraaier voornoemd.

De zevende was DIRK ZWAGERMAN, gehuwd met Geertje Tinkelenberg, met twee kinderen.
