Notes about Cornelius Cornie Eshuis


Cornelius Eshuis went and celebrated Easter with Jesus on Sunday, April 20, 2014. He was born in Sioux Center, Iowa on December 9, 1924. He married Jeannette Broersma on June 13, 1947.

Cornie worked in the orchards of Eastern Washington before moving to Whatcom County where he worked at Draper Valley and for Hoksbergen picking up eggs? later he became a dairy farmer.

After he retired from farming he and Jeannette spent 20+ years delivering the Bellingham Herald. He loved spending time going to both the boys and girls basketball games at Lynden Christian.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette, his three daughters Shirley (Henry) Veldman, Bonnie (Daniel) Lagerwey, Beverly (Gary) Drost, 16 grandchildren, 48 great?grandchildren, and 2 great?great grandchildren, and his sisters?in?law Betty Eshuis, Leona Eshuis, Eunice Broersma, Marilyn(John) Dekker, Marcella (John) Verstrate, and brother?in?law Delmar (Marilyn) Broersma, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 24 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Liberty St., Lynden. Burial will precede in Monumenta Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lynden Christian Sports Program, 417 Lyncs Dr., Lynden, WA 98264.
