Tot zijn opvolger verkozen de landeigenaren zijn zoon Pijtter Broers, die hier in Nov. 1730 als kerk- en schooldienaar voorkomt. Reeds op 17 Sept. 1730 was hij dat, toen hij hier trouwde met Dieuwke Ruurds. Hij tekende sedert 1740 steeds mr. P. Broersma. Op 13 jan 1732 werd hier hun zoon Broer gedoopt; 2 April 1747 Minse. De eerste bekleedde jarenlang het voorzangersambt te Idsegahuizen, gelijk we zagen (1767 tot 1791; daarna Minse ook nog even). Daar zijn de zoons dus ongetwijfeld gaan wonen. Meester Pijtter Broersma was hier in 1949 [sic] nog schooldienaar, doch is omstreeks 1755 overleden. Zijn vrouw heet in de lidmatenlijsten steeds Dieuwke Pijtters, zoals ze naar een veelvoorkomend gebruik, naar haar mans naam, wel genoemd zal zijn. Dit was echter blijkbaar foutief, want in Aug. 1763 vroeg Dieuwke Ruurds, wed. Pieter Broers attestatie om over te gaan naar de Herv. gemeente to Makkum.
