Mrs. Debra Mars, age 36, of Alton, passed away Thursday, December 8, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Memorial services were held on Monday, December 12, at 11:00 a.m, at the Alton Reformed Church, with the Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Interment was held at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Debra Doreen was born February 5, 1958, in Johnson County. She was raised at Alton, where she attended Floyd Valley High School.

On February 27, 1976, she married Randy K. Mars at Orange City. They made their home in Orange City until 1989, when they moved to Alton.

"Deb" was a member of the Alton Reformed Church, where she belonged to the Esther Circle.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Shelly Ann, at home; parents, (Jake) John and Joyce Marie (Wichers) Siemonsma, of Alton; three brothers, Jimmy J. Siemonsma, of Matlock; Benton 0 Siemonsma, of Sioux Center; and Perry P. Siemonsma, of Alton; sister, Laura L. Sitzmann, of Orange City, and nephews and nieces.
