By Frederick William Ricord, Sophia B. Ricord

Captain Anthony Collamore. was a prominent citizen, always taking part in military, civil and ecclesiastical affairs of his town. In 1666 he married Sarah, twin daughter of Isaac Chittenden, several times deputy from Scituate, member of the council of war, etc. Anthony was a captain of militia and master of a vessel, and lost his life December 16. 1693, in a wreck on the coast near his home, his vessel going to pieces on a rocky reef which still bears the name of Collymores Ledge. In 1694, shortly after his death, there was printed in Boston a memorial, composed by the Rey. Deodet Lawson, under the title of Threnodia, or a Mournful Remembrance of the Much-to-be Lamented Death of the Worthy and Pious Captain Anthony Collamore. Of Anthony Collamores twelve children, only five lived beyond infancy: Peter, Mary, Sarah, Martha and Elizabeth. The last named was twice married: first to Jeremiah Rose and afterwards to Tymothy Symmes. Her great-granddaughter, Anna Symmes, married, November 22. 1795, William Henry Harrison, ninth president of the United States.

...The will of her father, Jeremiah Rose, was drawn on 09 March 1798, and proved 09 April 1801, in Rensselaer County, New York. He names his wife, Barsheba, sons, Nathaniel and Charles, daughters, Joann Allen (wife of William Allen), Lydia Greenfield (wife of Bethuel Greenfield), Mary Vary (wife of Simeon Vary), and Esther Rose as heirs. Witnesses were Joseph Reynolds, John Boss, and Nicholas Harris. It seems certain that Esther Rose married Henry Reynolds shortly after this will was drawn.
