Bill,
Thank you for the additional information. Like I said before, I have in my possession a family bible that has a copyright of 1880. This was given to me by my aunt. Inside the bible were some very old written family records. I will give you everything I have.
Elisha Spencer and Elizabeth Wagner (this was how it was spelled on the record sheet) were married on November 9th, 1806. Elisha Spencer was born on June 11th, 1785. Elizabeth (Wagner) Spencer was born December 16th, 1780. They had three children Mary Spencer born January 8th, 1802, James Spencer born February 22nd, 1808, and Rebecca Spencer born July 14th, 1815. Mary Spencer is listed getting married on August 10th, 1819. Mary Spencer is also listed as dying on May 25th, 1825. Rebecca Spencer married Isaac Leaman. Rebecca (Spencer) Leaman died in Iowa on November 24th, 1872. She had nine kids with Issac Leaman. Issac Leman was born March 18th, 1810 and died in Charles City, Iowa on May 6th, 1889. Issac Leaman and Rebecca (Spencer) Leaman's youngest child was Emma who married Niles Shannon they raised their children and died in Thornton, Iowa. Emma is my is my great-great grandmother. Emma (Leaman) Shannon and Niles Shannon's youngest child Myrtle married Ted Winter and they had my grandmother Grace who married my grandfather Charles Moon.
All of the dates and names come directly from the family record sheet insert in the family bible. The document is very old and I think it was written down at list fifty years before the bible existed. Please share this information with anyone that would like to have it.

OLIVE was organized as a township of Morgan County in 1819. In 1851 the commissioners of Noble County altered and established its boundaries, making it as follows:
"Commencing at the southeast corner of section 36, in township number 6 of range 9; thence north to the northeast corner of said township number 6 of range 9; thence west along said township line to the northwest corner of the east half of section 5 in said township number 6 and range 9; thence south through the center of sections number 5, 8, 17, 20, 29 and 32 to the southwest corner of the east half of section 32 in said township number 6 and range 9; thence along said township line to the place of beginning containing twenty-seven sections."
"Olive Township, Guernsey County, was organized June 3,1816, from a part of Buffalo Township, which was erected in 1810. The Guernsey County line, prior to the erection of Morgan County in 1819. ran east and west through the center of what is now Olive Township. The original Olive Township probably extended westwardly and northwardly several miles. No description of its boundaries can be found.
The following is a list of the holders of real estate in Olive Township in 1820, taken from the Morgan County tax duplicate for that year: ...Israel Spencer...Elisha Spencer...

Israel Spencer and his brother Elisha, William Waggoner and Michael Shriver were early settlers in the same neighborhood. The Spencers came from Pennsylvania. Israel carried on distilling for some years. Elisha moved west. William Waggoner died here about 1830. Michael Shriver operated a still. Whisky making was one of the most profitable of the early industries, and many engaged in it. In 1830 five distilleries are known to have been in operation in the township, the two already mentioned and those of Israel Blake, Isaac Devore and William Free. Nehemiah Spear soon afterward engaged in the same business.
