Notes about Jan Berents Berkhoff

Notitie bij Jan: Jan Berents Berckhoff wordt in het boterpachtregister over 1682 voor het eerst genoemd, hij heeft dan het goed van zijn schoonvader Hermen Egberts overgenomen. Het erf staat bekend als de "Jan Clups", het erf was gelegen aan het Oosteinde 109 huidige nummering. (Ken uw dorp en heb het lief, blz. 82). Het goed was een 5 1/2 akkerstuk. In het boterpachtregister over het jaar 1713 wordt de wed. Jan Berentsen Berckhoff genoemd. In 1720 wordt Hermen Jansen Berkhof genoemd. Als zodanig wordt ze nog genoemd in het boterpachtregister over het jaar 1733, geïnd in 1734. Had waarschijnlijk de bijnaam KleefJan, zie opmerkingen bij echtgenote.

In 1693 en 1694 is een Jan Berents Berckhof genoemd als kerkmeester bij de aanstellingsakte van de schout Jan Berentsen Brouwer, mogelijk is het ook zijn naamgenoot gehuwd met Anna Berents Minck die tegelijkertijd leefde. (bron Archief Huize Almelo inv.nr. 2649). Ook op 31-12- 1691 in de protocollen van het hooggericht Almelo als kerkmeester genoemd (HAA inv. nr. 2649).
