Onder dankzegging aan Frans Gunnink wegens zijn reaktie mbt de familieband tussen de families Merckelbach en Gunning, het navolgende: De genoemde JAN DAVID GUNNING(H), soldaat, trouwt inderdaad te Kampen op 11 mei 1736 met: SYBILLA MERCKELBACH (MERCHELBAG), geboren te Kampen op 11 februari 1711. Sybilla was een dochter van FRANS MARKELBACH, afkomstig uit Goor en Geertien van Diepen. (ondertrouw 17 juni 1747 Kampen). In eerder huwelijk was Frans Markelbach in Kampen getrouwd met Egbertje Vrijdags. Sybilla Merckelbach zou begraven zijn op 22 november 1780 en Jan David Gunning op 9 maart 1781. In het gezin Gunning - Merckelbach waren ongeveer 8 kinderen. Deze familie Gunning is blijkbaar gerelateerd aan het bekende koffiebedrijf Kanis&Gunnink. De ouders van Frans Markelbach uit Goor cq Goir heb ik tot op heden niet kunnen achterhalen, ik ben hier wel zeer benieuwd naar! Misschien weet iemand hierover iets meer? Alle reakties en eventuele aanvullingen zijn uiteraard welkom!

In onze familie komt de familienaam Merkelbach ook voor. Jan David Gunning(h), later Gunnink, trouwt rond 1735 (datum precies bekend, maar heb ik niet bij de hand) met Sybilla Merkelbach (ook Markelbach) in Kampen. Haar vader was Frans Merkelbach uit Goir/Goor. Is deze persoon bekend. Hierdoor is de naam Frans in de familie gekomen, en die is er in grote aantallen nog steeds....
