Biografie
Woonde in Amsterdam, Kanaalstraat 122-1. Zoon (zesde van tien kinderen) van Adriaan Overeem (12 september 1888 Baarn – 6 juli 1972) en Teuntje Nagel (14 september 1884 Baarn – 6 maart 1955 Baarn). Gehuwd op 6 augustus 1942 met Wilhelmina Christina van der Waarden (7 september 1916 Amsterdam – 24 oktober 2006 Baarn). Handzetter. Verzetsdeelnemer

Overeem werkte bij Boek- en Handelsdrukkerij S.J.P. Bakker ( 1*) aan de Lijnbaansgracht 208-209 in Amsterdam, waar van 1941 af grote hoeveelheden illegale lectuur, waaronder Vrij Nederland en Trouw, zijn gedrukt. Na een inval werd hij op 29 januari 1945 samen met zijn werkgever Bakker en zes medepersoonsleden gearresteerd. De liquidatie van de met de Duitsers collaborerende politieman Willemse (2*) op 5 februari 1945 in Zaandam was voor de bezetter reden om Overeem, Bakker en acht anderen op de loswal van de Prins Hendrikkade als represaille te fusilleren. Zijn naam staat op een herdenkingsplaquette vlakbij de fusilladeplaats.
