HOBDAY, Albert J. "Jack"
HOBDAY, Albert J. Jack age 92, passed away Monday, December 21, 2009. He attended Holy Family School and St. Xavier High School, class of 1935 in Cincinnati, OH. Jack served in WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps, as a B-17 Navigator. On December 7, 1941, his flight of 12 B-17s arrived at Hickam Field in the midst of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. After the war, Jack attended the University of Cincinnati, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1949. He retired from DESC in 1982. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Virginia Hobday, brother, Charles and parents Nora and Charles Hobday. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law: Rodney (Kathleen) Hobday of Harrison; daughters and sons-in-law: Susan (John) Andrejcio of Huber Heights, Debbie (Bill) Carney of Indian Mound, TN; 10 grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren. The family will receive guests Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. Leonards Chapel (8100 Clyo RD Centerville, OH 45458) from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow. Interment will follow the Mass at Heritage Hills Memory Gardens in Springboro. Contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice in memory of Albert. Was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked by the Japanese and he was injured. He served in the Airforce.
