in het jaar 2000 verhuiste het gezin van Dolf van Noord holland naar Oude Pekela (Groningen),ze kochten een klein boerderijtje aan de wedderweg nummer 149 van de fam J. Laanstra .
Ze hielden daar pony,s,honden, katten, geiten, varkens,en kippen.
Gewerkt als taxichaufeur voor verstandelijke gehandicapten
In 2005 samen met Marjan zijn vrouw kleinschalig bedrijfje gestart De Zwaluw.
dit was een activiteiten centrum voor mensen met een beperking
Dolf heeft in 2009 het stamboomonderzoek van zijn Opa Adolf v Metelen overgenomen en uitgewerkt.
In 2010 zijn Dolf en Marjan verhuisd samen met Dion en Mathijs,naar de Hendrik Westerstraat 94 te Oude Pekela.
Dolf en Marjan verhuisde op 15 mei 2020 naar de Kerkstraat 17 te Assen. appartement in het centrum.
