There is a Richard Phillips born to Richard & Joan Phillips, 24th May 1782, South Brent. Richard & Grace are living at Venice House or Vene's House, Cornworthy, nr Totnes, Devon in the census of 1841. There is a cottage called Venice Cottage, Allaleigh (near Cornworthy). Nigel Paige states in his book 'The Paiges of South Devon' that  Richard farmed at 'Venice' close to the Gitcombe farm of William Paige
