But now Eleanor, widow of Sir Richard Crofts, and her son Edward have intruded themselves and wrongfully deprive the complainants of the profits thereof, and also hold certain deeds and writings concerning the manors and refuse to give them up or restore the premises to the orators. The respondents are persons of great substance and power, and have many kinsfolk and great alliance and many other great friends in the county; the orators are poor and have no friends or acquaintances in the county, and dwell more than a hundred miles from the said lands and cannot sue their remedy at common law. * Incorrect Birth Place: There is no evidence that he was born Burton. his father's principle land holding was in Ramsbury, Wiltshire, but he also did a great deal of business in London. His wife inherited property. These are all possible birth locations.
* Incorrect NEHGR Article: An 1867 NEHGR article titled English Ancestry of the Winslow Family produced a chart purporting to show a descent of John Winslow of Kempsey, co. Worcester and Agnes Throckmorton to Gov. Edward Winslow. [11] Agnes Throckmorton married Thomas not John Winslow, and they had no sons. This article is the source for many internet errors.
