Paul Hammond was born 27 Dec 1757 at Hampden county, MA the son of teacher, William Hammond, and his wife Elizabeth Shepard Hammond. He married Mary "Polly" Fuller 5 Jul 1781 at Schaghticoke, Rensselaer county, NY. He and Polly had the following children: Abner; Benoni; Elizabeth; William; Charles; Ruth; Bartimeus; Paul (Jr.); Samuel; Naomi; Sarah; Mahala; Amanda; and Mary. He served during the Rev. War in Van Cortlandt's Regiment and later Col. Seth Warner's Regiment. He was stationed for a few months at Ft. Stanwix. He received a pension 22 Jan 1822. Following the Rev. War Paul Hammond and his family moved to Montgomery county, NY, later Fulton county, NY, lastly settling in Monroe county, NY at Webster and Penfield before his death. The location of his grave is not known. Perhaps he is buried near his son William Hammond in Harris Rd.
