Victor Colinmaire, 28 ans; Léon Mattenet, 23 ans, et Joseph LHote, 30 ans, tous trois à Gugney-aux-Aulx, avaient dignement fêté le 14 juillet. Le garde champêtre n'entend pas de cette oreille et veut la paix dans son village. Mal lui en prit, car pour lui apprendre à vivre nos trois fêteurs tombent dessus et administrent coups de poing jusqu'au moment où le pauvre garde crie : "j'ai reçu le coup de la mort". Colinmaire, qui a déjà une condamnation, quatre jours de prison ; les deux autres, quatre jours mais avec sursis.
