    In 1950 werden de in elkaar gevallen resten van de twee waterraderen van de Zuukermolen opgeruimd. Hiermee kwam een einde aan een paar eeuw waterkrachtgebruik aan de Gelriaweg in de buurtschap Zuuk, ten zuiden van Epe.
    Tot 1990 liep het water van de Klaarbeek ongehinderd over het resterende molenhoofd naar de Grift. De molen aan de zuidelijke kant van de beek was de Zuukermolen, die in 1886 in bezit kwam van de familie Bourgonje.

    Momenteel (2010) zijn alle molenonderdelen uit het molengebouw verdwenen. De molen aan de noordelijke oever van de beek heeft verschillende bestemmingen gehad, o.a. een duitenknipperij, een inrichting voor het knippen van muntplaatjes uit koperen platen, die op de bovengelegen Kopermolen werden geplet. Deze activiteit werd in 1854 stopgezet.
    Daarna werd het water en de waterkracht gebruikt door o.a. een papiermolen, een fabriek voor sigarenkistjes, een zuivelfabriek en een wasserij.
    In 1945 gaf J.F.H. de Lange weer een metaalbestemming aan de noordelijkste molengebouwen.
    Hiermee legde hij de grondslag voor de huidige Veluwse Machine Industrie (VMI) aan de Gelriaweg. Het 45-jarig jubileum van deze onderneming in 1990 was voor de directie de directe aanleiding om in samenwerking met de Stichting Behoud weer een waterrad aan te laten brengen aan de voormalige korenmolen.
    Op zaterdag 8 september 1990 werd het nieuwe waterrad in gebruik gesteld door de toen 95-jarige Gerhardus Johannes Bourgonje (1895-1991), de laatste molenaar van de Zuuker korenmolen. De technische dienst van VMI verzorgt het onderhoud van de lagers.
