Mrs. James Howard Called By Death
Juliett Howard, wife of James Howard, died from hardening of the arteries, after an illness of two weeks, at the family residence in South Bountiful, Saturday.
Mrs. Howard was born in Joe Daviess County, Ill. Jan. 19, 1849 being the daughter of Joseph and Clarissa Dempsey Fackrell, and when but three years of age, come to Utah with her parents who upon their arrival in the valley located in Bountiful which was then Sessions' Settlement, where she has lived since. Her parents were among the very earliest settlers of what is now West Bountiful - being only about five years behind Perregrine Sessions, the first settler of Bountiful.
Deceased was seventy-five years old.
In April, 1869, she was married to James Howard who together with the following children survive her; Mrs. Juliett Wood, Mrs. Maude Ludwig and Mrs. Luella Davis of Salt Lake; Mrs. Matilda Johnson of Shelton, Ida., Mrs. Lucy Purcell of Churchhill, Ida., and Mrs. Lona Arbuckle, Mrs. Clara Hatch and Mr. James H. Howard of Woods Cross. She also has fifty-four grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
