Verda Anderson Rasband " A Beloved Daughter of God" Verda Anderson Rasband born on July 9, 1914 to Joseph A. Anderson and Tryphena Roseltha Boyer, entered peacefully into her next life at 4:30 a.m. on March 24, 2010. She died of causes incident to age, surrounded by her family and those who love her. She was born and raised in Lehi, Utah and grew up raising chickens, picking berries, chasing and being chased by loving brothers and sisters, particularly her surviving younger sister Josephine Johnson. These close family relationships continued throughout her later life and were a model for her own children. The center of her life was her family and serving in numerous callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married Rulon Hawkins Rasband on August 10, 1947 and they successfully welded together children from earlier marriages, Russell, Neil, and Nancy then added their son, Ron, into an eternal family. She now joins her eternal companion who preceded her in death by 22 years. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed crafts and in particular she was outstanding at making beautiful porcelain lace dolls. She loved to dance and with her husband was a member of a square dancing group for many years. She was an avid fan of games and loved to play them with friends and family, particularly her grandchildren. She served as president of the ward Relief Society, Stake Primary and Stake Young Women in the Salt Lake Cottonwood stake under the leadership of President James E. Faust. She worked as a secretary in the Church office building for Elders Sterling W. Sill and Henry D. Taylor. Together with Rulon she served a proselyting mission in the Florida-Fort Lauderdale mission enjoying considerable success. Following their mission they served faithfully for many years as ordinance workers in the Jordan River Temple and took great pleasure in this service. Genealogy was a passion and she provided family and relatives with many generations of careful and accurate research enabling her family to be joined forever. She is survived by her sister Josephine Johnson and children Russell B. (Pat) Rasband, S. Neil (Judi) Rasband, Nancy R. (Baldur) Schindler, Ronald A. (Melanie) Rasband, 17 living grandchildren, with one deceased and 49 great grandchildren. Services will be held at the Cottonwood Stake house, 1850 E. 6400 South in Salt Lake City, Saturday March 27th
