DeLaine Reed Young, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 17, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

DeLaine was born October 19, 1927, in Ririe, Idaho, to James Henry Reed and Maude Armstrong Reed. She grew up and attended schools in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School. She also attended Brigham Young University, where she met and married Moylen Young. They were married on September 3, 1947, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born seven children, Brent, David, Kevin, Alan, Ryan, Marilyn, and Lanette. DeLaine and Moylen made their home in Ammon, Idaho. They moved to Aiken, South Carolina, for ten years, and then returned to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 1983.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she served faithfully in numerous callings. DeLaine was known as "Sister Friendly" to the Primary and to those who knew her. She served in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for 25 years and was an Assistant Matron when her husband served in the Temple Presidency. She was an excellent seamstress and fabulous bread maker. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

son, Moylen Brent (Sandi) Young of Layton, UT;
son, David Reed (Shawnee) Young of Salem, OR;
son, Kevin Eric (Jamie) Young of Mesa, AZ;
son, Alan Kent (Mary) Young of Ririe, ID;
son, Ryan Neal Young of Hong Kong;
daughter, Marilyn (Jeffrey) Seebeck of Suwanee, GA;
daughter, Lanette (H. Richard) Heindel of Farmington, UT;
sister, Ruth Withers of Rexburg, ID;
brother, Gale "A" Reed of Ririe, ID;
sister, Barbara Jean (J. Richard) Clarke of Alpine, UT;
sister, Carol Sue Nef of Burton, ID;
24 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Verdas H., James Clare, and Glen H. Reed; and sisters, Eloise Reed and Eleanor Bennion.
