Early Life: Doris was born September 25, 1934, in Glendale, Arizona, to Arlie Ivins Despain and Mabel Allred Despain. She moved around several times while she was young, graduating from Provo High School in 1952.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: She married Dell B. Ford on August 24, 1952. Later, they were sealed in the Jordan River Utah LDS Temple on March 10, 2004. They traveled around for Dell's job, then settled in Lindon, Utah, where they raised three sons and a daughter. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working part-time as a waitress. She worked at the Lindon City Offices and loved being a Teacher’s Aide. Doris was always active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Relief Society president and enjoyed being the ward activities director and other callings. Doris sang for many funerals and other occasions; she loved to sing. She also loved to do temple work, especially extractions. When Dell retired, they sold the farm and split their time between Henderson, Nevada, and Wallsburg, Utah, where they made happy memories with friends and family. They settled in St. George, Utah, when Dell’s health started to decline. She was a loving caregiver until his passing in August 2007. Doris Andrea Despain Ford, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, left this world to be reunited with her husband, Dell, and other family members who have gone before, on Monday, October 16, 2017. She was 83 years old.
Survived By: Her children: Mike (LeAnn) Ford, Kris (Larry) Withers, Jeff (Nancy) Ford, and Steve (Brenda) Ford; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Ray Despain.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents, her husband and her brother, Verl.
