Notes about Jay Loraine Young

Jay L. Young Sr. passed away on April 20th, 2015 in Meridian, Idaho. Jay was born in St. Anthony, Idaho to Ethan and Blanche Young in 1933. Jay was raised in Newdale and attended school in St. Anthony. After leaving school, Jay went to work for Arrington Construction and later Teton Crane & Transport where he honed his skill to become one of Idaho’s best crane operators. Jay was the owner operator of Tri State Crane and Rigging for several years. There is no place you can stand in the Boise Valley that you can’t see a project he was involved with.

When Jay was not operating a crane early in his life, he could be found in Idaho Falls behind the wheel of an open-wheeled racecar. After moving to Boise, he enjoyed polishing the Hudson for car shows and enjoying a hot dog with good friends at swap meets. Jay enjoyed being outdoors on his farm in Kuna.

In April 2008, Jay met the love of his life, Patsy. They married in December 2009 and danced every chance they got. They enjoyed sitting on the back patio and watching the wildlife, owls, deer, and coyotes. The winter always found them trekking to Yuma Arizona, on the California side, where they had many close friends.

Jay will be missed by his wife, Patsy; his son, Jay Jr. (Donna); and daughter, Debbie; his grandchildren, Brandy (Marcos), Michael, Jaime; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Garth (Kay); and sister, Glenda. Jay will also be missed by Patsy’s children, John (Misti) and his daughter, Jonnie Lynn; son, Peter Forsberg, Patsy Jansen (Arnold), Judi Franz, and James Frazier. Jay was preceded in death by brothers, Howard and Doug. Additionally, Jay will be missed by Carlos Ramirez, a special friend and buddy.
