Her husband, Charles, died in 1858.
The following death notice appeared in a local newspaper on November 24, 1895:
"Mrs. Catharine Grimm, mother of Mrs. Charles Burgess, of Toronto, expired yesterday of dropsy after an illness of about eleven weeks. The deceased was 74 years of age and was a lady much respected and beloved. Her home was at Clarington and she had been visiting her daughter. She was buried in the Toronto cemetery yesterday afternoon."
On her grave marker, the surname is spelled GRIM.
