[Brøderbund WFT Vol. 9, Ed. 1, Tree #2432, Date of Import: Oct 20, 2000] Joseph McKibben Died in Lurgan twp. Cumberland County, Pennsylvania about 1761. Joseph and Elizabeth (McGibbons) owned 80 acres of land in Little Briton Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, granted to him on the 26th of February 1746, West of the Octobara river and Southwest of Strassburg. It was sold in 1768 to a Samuel Scott, Pennsylvania. Warrant Books-- 228 Survey book I, Pages 212,213. Joseph McGibbons of Lurgan Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, which was formed from Lamncaster County in 1750, Left a will written the 10th of November 1761 and probated 28th October 1761 , Giving one-third of his estate. Which included land in Lurgan Township, to his wife Elizabeth; one-third to his son John; and one-third to be divided into four shares for his sons Joseph and William and daughters Elizabeth and Agnes. Son James to receive 15 Shillings. An Elizabeth McKibben married a John Wylie February 3, 1766 (From Rev. John Bucher marriage records 1763-1768.) It is thought that Joseph McGibbons, who was married to Elizabeth, whose name appears on the Lurgen Township, tax list of 1751 were the parents of James McKibben.
