Nicholas Fowle was baptised on 22 March 1670/1 in Wadhurst. He inherited Riverhall. One source says that he, rather than his father, died of small pox in 1710. Nicholas married Mary Haslen by licence on 14 August 1699. She was the daughter of Henry Haslen. Did their son, Nicholas Fowle marry his cousin Elizabeth Barham by licence on 14 July 1726 in Ninfield, Sussex? Elizabeth was the daughter of Nicholas Barham and Catherine Fowle.

Ann Fowle was baptised on 8 November 1680. She was of Riverhall. Ann married Thomas Wykes. After the death of her Uncle John Barham in 1724, a Bill of Complaint was filed in the Court of the Exchequer at Westminster by Thomas Wykes, against George Egles, Nicholas Fowle, Nicholas Barham and other defendants.
