1591 her children were beneficiaries in the will of her father, Thomas Smythe [of Ostenhanger, Kent], and were left the sum of £550 to be divided equally between them.

1598 a beneficiary in the will of her mother, Dame Alice Smythe, "100 oz. of white plate, a small yellow satin quilt, £20 to her sons Thomas, Oliver, and William, and a like sum to Alice and Catherine on attaining the age of twenty-one."
