Notes about Elizabeth TICKLE

Elizabeth Tickle's parents were Thomas Tickle and Anne his wife. Her first confirmed sighting is on 27th March 1720 when she was married at Stotfold in Bedfordshire to a labourer named John Collop. They appear to have had six children baptised at Stotfold between 1721 and 1738, although the eldest died when only a baby.

In 1730 Elizabeth appears to have been the victim of an assault; a Daniel Brittain said he wanted to kiss her and when she rejected his advances Brittain assaulted her.

Elizabeth's husband John appears to have died in either 1749 or 1756; the burial register gives insufficient information to say which is him. Either way Elizabeth outlived him by several years, being buried on 24th November 1769 at Stotfold.
