Elizabeth Petit was baptised on 15 December 1734 in Wadhurst. She was the eldest child and daughter of 5 176 Joseph Pettitt (c1710-1773) and 5 176 Margaret King (c1711-1803). Her father was a yeoman of Wadhurst. She died aged 81 years on 10 March 1816 and was buried on 15 March 1816 in Wadhurst. Elizabeth was mentioned in her father's will of 1772, by which she received £300.
