Husband of Felice Redmayne, daughter of Sir Matthew Redmayne of Newcastle, widow of John Woodcock, mercer of London. They married before Feb 1410 and had one son and three daughters; Sir Thomas, Eleanor, Anne and Maud, wife of Sir William
Thirkeld.
John applied to Parliament in Nov 1411 and obtained a declaration under the Great Seal that restored his name and capacity to hold the possessions of his late father and brother, despite the disagreements they had held. In 1419, he was granted one fourth interest in the manor of Seton Kerrowe, Durham by his uncle, Ralph Neville, Earl of Westmorland.
John was slain at the Battle of Beauge in Anjou, and was buried in the Cathedral yard at Durham, but later removed to Chester-le-Street in 1594, along with the remains of his father. SOURCE: www.findagrave.com
