Notes about Henry Percy Alfred RANGER

Born Dodhurst Farm near Pembury. Worked on a farm most of his working life. Later worked on the railway first as a lengthman and later in the building dept. Lived at 26 Hawkenbury Road Tunbridge Wells, Kent, most of his married life. Married Mary ( Molly) Marsh had two children Allan and Joan. Was a keen gardener and home brew beer and wine maker . Had a colostomy operation when he was aged about 50 coped very well. Retired from the railway. A nice gentle man. Died in Pembury Hospital January at 11.30 PM on 23 January1999 from a cancer related illness.

Wedding NoticeAt St Albans Church Frant on Saturday Mr Henry Ranger son of Mr and Mrs George Ranger of High Woods Pembury was married to Miss Molly Marsh daughter of Mr and Mrs Marsh of Sunderland. The ceremony being performed by the Rev. Dudgeon with Mr. Sidney Ranger (brother of the bridegroom) as best man. The bride who was given away by her mother wore blue crepe-de-chine with halo hat and carried a shower bouquet of red carnations. She was attended by three bridesmaids. Miss Margaret Burnett and miss Jenny Graham were in blue dresses of art silk with hats to match and carried bouquets of pink carnations. The younger maid Miss Peggy Ranger wore a blue satin dress with head-dress of gold leaves and carried of bouquet of flowers.
