Notes about John BAKER

From Complete Baronetage: John Baker was born about 1608. He married Eleanor, daughter of Sir Robert Pakhurst, Lord Mayor of London 1634-1635. John was Sheriff of Kent in 1633-1634 and MP for Hastings in 1640. He died 15 Jan 1653.

In the Baker Pedigree in the visitation of Kent in 1619 he was recorded as John Baker aged 11, son of Henry Baker and Catharine Smyth, daughter of John Smyth of Ostenhanger.

On 22 April 1644 he was fined £3,000 for being a zealous Royalist.
