They got married on November 9, 1552 at Parish Church, Rotherfield, East Sussex, he was 30 years old.
Nicholas Fowle may have been born in about 1522. He was the son of William Fowle (c1500-1566) and Margaret Godive or Margaret Goddin. He died on 2 November 1599. He was an Iron Master and with the profits from his business, he and his son William built the house at Riverhall in Wadhurst in 1591. They built another house at Lightlands in Frant. (Lightlands was eventually purchased by William Stickland in 1657,) He was mentioned in his father's will of 1560 and was appointed a joint executor, along with his brother Anthony.
His will was dated 24 October 1599 and proved on 8 November 1600. By his will he requested to be buried in Rotherfield. Amongst the many bequests he mentions: his brother Anthony Fowle; 6 daughters, but not their names; his only son William Fowle; brother Thomas Markwicke; John Barham of Butts; John Lucke of Durgatte; sons in law John Polhill and John Dunmoll; Nicholas Fowle son of his son William Fowle; granddaughters Elizabeth Fowle, Frances Fowle, Dorothy Fowle and Helen Fowle, daughters of his son William; John Carpenter; Walter *en*ley; William Maynard; William ***mer; Mary Mannser his daughter's daughter; John Mannser his daughter's son; Margaret Curde; Jane (possibly Petter or Potter); *lyrs Barham; John Groombridge; William Norton; Nicholas Polhill his daughter's son.
