He is married to SYBIL NEWMARCH.
They got married April 1121 at Gloucester, Gloucestershire, he was 29 years old.
Child(ren):
Apparently the only son of Walter, Miles received from Henry I in 1121, Sibyl, daughter of Bernard de Neufmarche, in marriage, which included all the lands of her father and mother, including the lordship of Brecknock.
By the time of King Stephen, he was one of the great magnates in western England, and after joining with Stephen, that King granted by charter to him and his heirs, the entire honour of Gloucester and Brecknock, as well as the constableship of Gloucester Castle.
He was at the siege of Shrewsbury in 1138, but upon the Empress' arrival, he switched his alliance, where she accepted his homage and granted him the castle of St. Briavell and the whole Forest of Dean. He accompanied her to Winchester, then to Reading, where he acted as her constable, and then to London in 1141. He joined her in her flight, being with her at Gloucester, and also at Oxford, where she created him Earl of Hereford, and subsequently granted to him and his heirs the castle and honours of Abergavenny.
His widow is stated to have entered a religious life after his death. While they had five sons, four of which succeeded as Lords of Brecknock, all five apparently died s.p., when their three sisters were found to be heirs. SOURCE: http://www.geneajourney.com/herefd.html#notea
