Geoffrey II "Boterel", Count of Penthièvre, married Hawise de Dol, by whom he had issue. Geoffrey received Stephen's Breton lands and was a supporter of Empress Matilda during The Anarchy.

He was Count of Brittany and Penthièvre (1136). He succeeded his father in Penthièvre. He was an adherent of Maud the Empress and witnessed one of her charters at Reading in May 1141 and was present at the siege of Winchester the same year.

Died after fighting his two brothers for 7 years
