1684, Oct. 29. Heirs of Nicholas Power taxed 4s., 2d. (in a levy of £25).
1685, Dec. 12. Laid out to heir3 of Nicholas Power, in right of predecessors, the deceased Nicholas Power both the elder and the younger ; 50 acres of land.
1701, Mar. 4. He bought of Daniel Williams for good satisfaction, a house lot in lower end of the town.
(1) He had a relationship with Mary Haile.
(2) He had a relationship with Mercy Tillinghast.
Nicholas Power III., born 1673, and died 18 May 1734, was Deputy five years, from 1704 to 1730; a Member of the Town Council four years, bet. 1713 and 1730, and Assistant to the Governor, 1720 to 1721, 1724 to 1729, 1731, 1732, and 1733. As shown by the inventory of his estate, which was valued at £1,751, 13s, 3d, he was a prosperous merchant, and is
referred to in the colonial records as Captain and later as Colonel.
He md., first, Mary Haile; second, Mercy, the dau. of Rev. Pardon and Lydia (Taber) Tillinghast; she died 13 Nov 1769, in her ninety-first
year. A petition in the name of Nicholas Power, was made to the Town Council on 13 Dec 1708, for a piece of land between "my Ffather William his land and mine."[3] This may imply that Mary Haile's father
was named William. Issue, first wife:

The seventh child, Nicholas Power, IV., was born in Providence, and died in Paramaribo, Surinam (Dutch Guiana) , 28 Feb 1744, where he had gone to superintend the settlement of his estates.[4]
